Zentveld’s Coffee Farm & Roastery Home Espresso Tips:
How to make the perfect shot. If your coffee extraction doesn’t look or taste right, here are a few solutions:
Firstly, check your coffee dose. If you are unsure of the recipe, Eduardo and Chris from Zentveld’s Coffee, are always here to assist, don’t hesitate to ask. Each blend has a different recipe.
Make sure you do things exactly the same way, every single time. The same dosage and pressure to tamp.
Coffee dose: 22 grams
Coffee extraction: 44 ml/ grams
Time of extraction: 37 seconds
Water temperature from the coffee machine: 92.5 to 94 degrees Celsius
Extraction Pressure: 9 bars
If the extraction is too quick: This happens when the coffee grind is too coarse. Your coffee will be tasting sour and acidic, you should change the grinder to be slightly finer.
Double check the dosage the grinder is giving you. It will give you less coffee when you make it finer so you will need to set the grinding timer for longer.
If the extraction is too slow and your shot is dripping: This happens when the coffee you grind is too fine. Your coffee will be tasting bitter and you should change the grinder to be more coarse.
Double check the dosage the grinder is giving you as it will give you more coffee because you made it coarse. You will need to set the grinding time less.
